RapidPick ™ Complete Colony Picker

They deliver performance and precision unparalleled in the Life Science industry for enhancing bacterial cultivation.  In addition to allowing researchers to automate the selection and growth of cells grown on a colony plate, the RapidPick software retains a record and image of each specific colony and which culture plate/well it inoculated. It provides the users an indispensable, unbroken data path from original colony to final result.

The RapidPick™ is designed to pick from SBS-compatible omni-trays, segmented colony plates, 24-well, 96-well and 384-well plates and petri dishes. It will inoculate SBS-compatible omni-trays, 24-well, 96-well and 384-well deepwell and standard height plates. All RapidPick operations are controlled by Hudson's powerful SoftLinx™ easy-to-use scheduling software.

RapidPick ™ Lite Colony Picker

high-speed-colony-picking-rapidpick-lite-300x200.jpgThe RapidPick Lite includes the RapidPick MP, a PlateCrane EX robotic arm and 5 plate stacks. If you have medium throughput needs, you may be interested in the RapidPick SP or the RapidPick Harvester.
Its small footprint saves lab space and easily fits into anaerobic chambers and biosafety hoods. The typical colony picking rate is around 2,400 colonies per hour. Software Plug-Ins are available to communicate with all Hudson Robotics instruments and over 200 instruments from other manufactures.
Using the RapidPick Lite, users can manually load a colony plate and a media-filled target plate in the plate stacks of the PlateCrane robotic arm, then start the automated picking through an easy operator interface on the instrument's control computer. The MP includes barcode scanners to identify barcodes on each of the source colony plate and the target growth plate. If the user's plates are barcoded, then the transfer data is saved using these barcodes to identify the resulting picked colonies. If the user's plates are not barcoded, the data will be saved in sequential order. With the optional 2nd destination plate the user can create both an assay plate and an archive plate. Optional fluorescence detection and zone of exclusion bacterial colony detection is available.

RapidPick ™ MP: 20 Pin Colony Picker

rapidpick-m.jpg The RapidPick MP 20 pin colony picker software is the fastest, most accurate automated colony picking system in the world.  The average inoculation rates of the MP are over 99%. This microbial colony picker's small footprint saves lab space and easily fits into anaerobic chambers and biosafety hoods. The typical colony picking rate is around 2,400 colonies per hour. Software Plug-Ins are available to communicate with all Hudson Robotics instruments and over 200 instruments from other manufactures. The open physical layout allows for easy integration with other instruments and cleaning.

The RapidPick MP is intended for researchers who need the accuracy and high outgrowth rates, but whose workload doesn't require the added automation available in the other versions of the RapidPick.

Using the RapidPick MP, users can manually load a colony plate and a media-filled target plate, then start the automated picking through an easy operator interface on the instrument's control computer. Hudson's RapidPick designed to pick from petri dishes, Nunc™ Omnitray™ or any SBS plates, including: 1, 6, 8, 24, 48 and 96-well plates. The MP includes barcode scanners to identify barcodes on each of the source colony plate and the target growth plate. If the user's plates are barcoded, then the transfer data is saved using these barcodes to identify the resulting picked colonies. RapidPick ™ SP Single Pin Colony Picker

cps1-rapidpick-sp-1-19-17.jpgHudson's RapidPick SP is a single-pin version of Hudson's widely-acclaimed RapidPick MP multi-pin colony-picker and re-arrayer. Like the RapidPick Complete and RapidPick Lite, the RapidPick SP has all the features needed by users in today's molecular biology environment. The RapidPick SP has been designed to meet the needs of labs that need automated colony-picking and accurate data-handling, but whose throughput needs can be met by its medium-throughput productivity, typically 250 colonies per hour. The average inoculation rates of the SP are over 99%.

This microbial colony picker's small footprint saves lab space. The RapidPick SP fits easily on most lab benchtops, and is ideal for use in microbiome research picking inside anaerobic chambers. The imaging system, picking pin and sterilization system on the RapidPick-SP is the same as the imaging system, picking pin and sterilization system on the standard RapidPick. The differences are the plate loading and the number of pins used to pick samples.

RapidPick ™ Harvester

rapidpick_harvester.jpgHudson Robotics has developed a unique, automated colony picker for stem cell clusters, microbial and fungal samples in microplates or omnitrays. The RapidPick Harvester™ identifies and extracts sample plugs of stem cell clusters, microbial colonies, or fungal samples grown on agar or in semi-solid media. This robotics picking platform is uniquely easy-to-use, accurate and durable.

Equipped with a digital camera, the Harvester allows the researcher to manually identify sample locations across the microplate or omnitray, or to run any of a variety of imaging programs to automatically select qualified colonies or samples for picking. The Harvester then stores the image and selection coordinates for later picking, or can be directed to pick the selected samples right then. The extracted sample plugs are then transferred to a media-filled growth plate for outgrowth and testing. The Harvester is perfect for stem cell research. The Harvester is also able to read the output files of cell imagers, like Brooks Automation's Celligo™ , then go directly to the sample locations identified in their output files to extract individual plugs and transfer them to selected wells in a media-filled growth plate. The Harvester's ease-of-use is extraordinary. Users can learn how to operate it with only minutes of training. They can view selected picking locations of sample plates if they wish, and, with a simple point-and-click, delete or add locations at will. This can be done either at the system, or at their office computer.
